Short stories of day by day people with day by day strugles. Easy to read and somewhat humouros. If you try and blend with the characters from the stories, exercising a little empathy, emotions will rise easily. A little too short, though... all in all, I liked it.

Era... in curs de terminare ;)
Acum ... e terminata demult.

E o imagine interesanta a unei lumi in care ne-am putea transforma. O lume in care comunicarea se face doar prin intermediul hologramelor. O lume robotizata, in care robotii au enigme si dileme logice(tineti minte acel banc cand are calculatorul cosmar: 0 0 0 1 0 1... 2).

Luand in considerare si aspectul polistit al naratiunii, ma declar pe deplin multumit de timpul investit in citirea cartii. As investi-o cu titlul de "3i": interesanta, inteligenta, intriganta.

Ca sa nu mai avem confuzii in ceea ce priveste limba blogului, de azi va fi oficial, romana. A fost engleza pana acum, dintr-un motiv tare obiectiv care acum nu mai e valabil. Asa ca "back to the roots" dupa cum zice romanu'.

Am mai avut o data un post de genul asta si probabil voi mai avea.

Cat despre carte, imi place autorul. Am mai citit cateva carti scrise de Mika Waltari. Cea mai interesanta a fost Egipteanul. Detalii despre el puteti gasi peste tot. Mie imi place in mod special modul lui de expunere. Imi aduce aminte de compunerile pe care trebuia sa le facem la istorie in gimnaziu. Atunci, trebuia sa intram in atmosfera epocii studiate si sa inventam istorisiri care sa respecte adevarul istoric si sa coaguleze elemente social-culturale. Eu bine, Mika Waltari se pare ca face lucrul acesta cu o mare acuratete, la o scara evident mai mare, cu putin umor... plus ceva romantism si framantari interioare bine subliniate din loc in loc.

Welcome to the Virtual Earth SDK insight. This article will present overviews of mapping concepts using Microsoft Virtual Earth. The intent of this post is to present conceptual solutions to some potential issues in the implementation of Virtual Earth in your web applications.

This site is new, so please check back for more examples as they become available. If there are certain issues that you would like to have addressed, please feel free to contact me.

First thing first

Here are the most important features of the Virtual Maps:

Map vision in 4 modes: Road, Aerial, Hybrid, and Bird’s Eye (Mostly developed in big towns)
Zooming: different zooming levels.
Map search: - Finding a certain location you want (e.g. your hometown). In case there is more than a location having the same name, you will have the possibility of choosing from the options listed in a window that will appear on the map.
Routes: - Given 2 points, the API offers you directions, distances in KM or Miles (this can be chosen by code and the option can be used by the map users too if they are given some radio buttons in the interface)
Tools: Map Cruncher

What I like most about this map is that it seems to have many more locations than the other maps. It's true that maybe not all locations are as detailed as you would expect, but at least they exist on the map (e.g. : Locations with <5000> Maps but you won't find them).

And now, lest begin with some examples of what you can do when integrating Virtual Earth on a website. Together with some friends I participated on a project that consisted in a website for a travel agency. The site needed to offer the possibility of visualizing all the existing offers, booking, searching for offers, and many more. Well, the project is still under development but we managed to integrate Virtual Earth so far to help us for example: visualize the offers on a map, where you can "walk" wherever you like to find the offers in the geographical location that you seek to spend your holiday in; or offer the agencies operators the help of simply clicking on a map to add a new location.

Adding push pins on Virtual Earth Map from an XML

First, you need a method in your site that can make an XML with the fields that you want from a database, but I won't touch this subject now. For the following example we will presume it exists. The elements and , call them how do you want, are compulsory in order to populate the map with pins on specific locations. Other information are welcome, but you can decide what is important to you. In the next example I will need the name of the location, the X and Y of the push pin and some other fields that will fill the information window when you roll over the pin.

Like I said, we won't stop now and discuss how this XML was made with information from the database. But we will talk about how to get those exact floating point numbers that represent the position of the push pin on the map later (in another article).

Finding a location

You can use the finding location feature and integrate it in your website. All you need is an HTML textbox and an HTML “Find” button. This is the JavaScript code for the FindLoc() method:

Just add the code where you have invoked the map. For more information about the Find method you can consult the reference manual. This is a powerful method if you use all the fields provided. Here, this is is the result after searching for "Paris": A Paris-centered image at a predefined zoom.

Soccer at the begining of the day

After playing soccer a few times at hours like 12.00 PM I consider that few things are left that could make my sleep more "soft & easy". " But, what? Say that again? 12.00 PM? Hmm... you gotta be crazy!" Well, believe me or not some folks were waiting to play on that field even at 2.00 AM after we have done our matches. When talking about playing on a field protected by rain and cold you can play at those hours, it's no problem. The only problem to discuss is whether you are tired or not at that hour. Well, :) even if you are tired you will definitely wake up after 5 minutes of playing. So, I can say that this day started very electrifying ;)) Started with a soccer match and continued with a nice november day after a good sleep.

LEGO Power

Well ... I can gladly remember the swwet days of childhood without computers (though with some TV) when I was playing with LEGO System. I was always admiring the astonshing photos of LEGO Technic, but of course I couldn't aford them. Years have past and still... I month ago I've bought a Lego System ;) sooo cute : a helicopter and a truck. Maybe later sometime I'll buy the ones I've always wanted.

The posibilities are many with LEGO. I've seen you can buy different sensors and different motors, gears , bricks and special model...how coool is that? PRETTY COOL :)

Let''s not forget about the LEGO Digital Designer. I;ve just downloaded. I can't wait to see what's it like.
